Indeed the word char also comes from a mandarin pronunciation of the word 'cha'. Tea is also produced in a wide range of different countries in the world. Some of the most prominent tea producing countries are China, Japan, India, Taiwan, Korea and Sri Lanka. To this day tea remains a revered beverage that is seen to give the drinker a number of qualities and is seen as part of a healthy diet.
